Refund Policy

1. Overview
J3DB provides custom 3D printing and design services.
Most products are made-to-order and tailored specifically to customer requirements.
Because of the custom nature of our work, refunds and cancellations are handled differently from standard retail products.
2. Before Payment
If you choose not to proceed before accepting a quote or paying an invoice:
-
No charges apply.
-
The project will simply be closed.
3. After Payment but Before Work Has Begun
If payment (or deposit) has been made but:
-
No design work has started
-
No printing has begun
You may request cancellation.
In these cases:
-
A refund may be issued, however where payment processors do not refund transaction fees, these may be deducted.
4. After Design Work Has Begun
If a project includes custom design work:
-
Deposits covering design time are non-refundable once work has started.
-
If cancelled mid-design, you may receive partial design files at our discretion.
Significant changes to project scope after work begins may require a revised quote rather than cancellation.
5. After Printing Has Begun
Once printing has started:
-
Orders cannot be cancelled.
-
Payments are non-refundable.
This is because materials, machine time, and production costs have already been committed.
6. Custom & Made-to-Order Items
Under UK consumer law, custom-made goods are exempt from the standard 14-day cooling-off period for distance selling.
All J3DB products are custom-produced based on the customer’s specifications.
As such:
-
Custom items are non-refundable unless faulty or not as described.
7. Faulty or Incorrect Items
If you believe your item is faulty or does not match the agreed specifications:
-
Contact us within 7 days of delivery.
-
Provide clear photos and details of the issue.
If an error is confirmed on our side, we will:
-
Reprint the item, or
-
Offer a suitable resolution, which may include a partial or full refund.
Normal characteristics of FDM 3D printing (layer lines, slight surface variation, minor tolerances) do not qualify as faults.
8. Shipping Issues
J3DB is not responsible for:
-
Courier delays
-
Damage occurring after confirmed delivery
If a parcel is lost in transit, we will work with the courier to investigate and resolve the issue appropriately.
9. Incorrect Specifications Provided by the Customer
If a part is produced according to the specifications or files provided, but those specifications are incorrect:
-
Refunds or free reprints cannot be provided.
We strongly recommend customers review dimensions and requirements carefully before approving quotes.
10. Returns
Returns may only be accepted if:
-
The item is confirmed faulty, and
-
Return is agreed in writing.
Returned items must be in original condition.
